PET STORE
Most pet store puppies are spur of the moment purchases. The media, especially in the past year, has begun to locate the places where pet store puppies are actually raised. Some very sad information has been discovered. Please ask a pet store the following questions, before you purchase, and see how many 'yes' answers you receive.
1. Can you tell me the name of the breeder and their phone number, so I can talk to them about their puppy?
2. Do you have any health records on the parents of this puppy?
3. Do you know what the parents look like?
4. Do you need to know anything about me? - the new puppy owner - other than if I have enough money to purchase?
5. Can I visit the breeder of this puppy, to be assured I am not purchasing from a puppy mill?
6.Do you know how this puppy will be taken care of if he or she is not purchased?
7. Is this puppy free of all health problems?
8. Can I see the Veterinarian records that state this puppy's current health - not just vaccine records.
9. Is this puppy registered with the American Kennel Club, or another type of organization?
I can assure you all your answers will be 'no'. A new puppy is a 10 to 15 year commitment, that should bring happiness to your life. Please support those who responsibly breed healthy, happy puppies.
